Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the special aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has endorsed the 24-hour economy plan proposed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.

She believes this initiative will create lasting jobs, boost Ghana’s economy, and ensure prosperity for all citizens.

In a post on her X platform, Bawah Mogtari described the Mahama 24-Hour Economy as transformative. She highlighted that extending business hours is essential for expanding businesses and fostering economic growth.

This plan will be supported by the next Mahama administration, allowing both government and private companies to adopt a three-shift system to revitalize the economy.

Former President Mahama also emphasized the importance of this plan for the country’s development. Speaking to Ghanaians on Sunday, June 9, he stated that the 24-hour economy is crucial both now and for the future.

The initiative aims to create a conducive environment with targeted policies, enabling businesses, companies, and government institutions to operate continuously in three eight-hour shifts.

Mahama explained that introducing additional work shifts would significantly increase job opportunities in both public and private sectors.

This strategy, known as the 24-hour economy optimization, promises enhanced service delivery and the creation of decent, well-paying jobs.

The plan includes round-the-clock services in various sectors such as ports, customs, vehicle registration, agro-processing, manufacturing, and construction.

According to Mahama, the benefits of this system are extensive, offering continuous operation and greater efficiency in many critical industries.
