Police in Philadelphia is looking for seven teenage suspects in connection with an assault on a 73-year-old man who died as a result of head injuries sustained during the assault.
On Friday, June 24, the Philadelphia Police Department released disturbing surveillance footage of the deadly attack, which occurred around 2:30 a.m.
A group of teens can be seen in the video chasing a blurred person across a street in North Philadelphia. One of the teenagers is seen throwing a traffic cone at the victim.
A girl is then seen picking up the traffic cone and throwing it at the victim repeatedly. Another suspect is seen filming the assault on his cellphone.
“The teens struck the victim several times with objects, knocking the victim to the ground and inflicting head injuries,” the department said in a statement. ”
The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died the next day from his injuries.”
Police said they are looking for four boys and three girls in their early to mid-teens. As with all open homicides, the city is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
