Duane Chapman is an American television personality, a bounty hunter and a former bail bondsman. He was born on February 2, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, the US to Wesley and Barbra Chapman.

At the age of 15, he joined the Devils Diciples, an outlaw motorcycle club. In 1976, he was arrested for first-class murder and sentenced to five years in Texas prison.
Chapman, after decades of bounty hunting, was featured on Take This Job, a program about people with unusual occupations. This led him and the show’s production company to do a spin-off about his work in capturing bail fugitives, in particular Chapman’s efforts in hunting down Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Chapman also married Beth Chapman on May 20, 2006, at Waikoloa Village in Hawaii, US. Unfortunately, Beth died in June 2019 due to throat cancer.
