Mokgweetsi Masisi is the fifth and current President of Botswana. He was then a vice president.

Mokgweetsi Masisi was born on born July 21, 1962, in Mosopa, Botswana. Mokgweetsi is the son of Edison Masisi, a diplomat and politician, and Precious Masego Masisi. He grew up in Gaborone.
While in Gaborone, Mokgweetsi attended Thornhill Primary School and Maru A Pula School. He furthered at the University of Botswana where he studied English and History. He then went to Florida State University to obtain a Master’s degree in social sciences education.
Mokgweetsi was a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly for the Moshupa-Manyana constituency from 2009 to 2018. He also worked for UNICEF.
