Popcaan is a famous Jamaican deejay, singer, and songwriter who has gained popularity all over the world with his songs.

Popcaan was born Andre Hugh Sutherland on July 19, 1988, in St. Thomas Parish, Jamaica but grew up in Greater Portmore, Saint Catherine Parish. His father is called “Shaggy” but the name of his mother is not known. He has a called Annalecia Sutherland.
Popcaan revealed that his grandmother who had a position at their local church used to invite him to perform and that was where he learned how to perform.
Popcaan was produced and mentored by Vybz Kartel who recruited him to his Portmore Empire music group. He then started making music for Adidjaheim Productions produced by the award-winning NotNice.
