Laycon whose real name is Olamilekan Moshood Agbeleshe was born on November 8, 1993, in Lagos, Nigeria.  The Bajuwen (Ogun State) native is a product of the University of Lagos where he studied philosophy and graduated in 2016 with a second class upper degree.

Laycon’s rise to fame was greatly due to his participation in the BBNaija reality show, however, he had been making impressions in the music industry before his eventual fame in 2020. He was a top ten finalist of the 2017 MTV Base LSB challenge.
