She is best known for her roles in the NBC sitcom “Community,” where she played the role of Shirley Bennett, and in the 2015 reboot of the CBS sitcom “The Odd Couple,” where she starred as Dani.

Brown was born on August 12, 1971, in East Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from Warrensville Heights High School in 1989 and studied communication studies at the University of Akron, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in communication in 1994.
Brown is engaged to Anthony Davis, whom she met in an acting class at church when they were in their 20s. They reconnected in recent years and got engaged in December 2023.
