In his final game, on Saturday, against the Penguins, Artemi Panarin scored one goal on five shots (May 7). The New York Rangers’ second-period charge resulted in a goal by Panarin. In his previous two games, the 30-year-old winger had two goals and two assists after going without a goal in the first game of the series.

In addition to playing on the top power play unit, Panarin will continue to receive time in the top six on offense. With nine shots on goal and a minus-1 rating through three playoff games, he is struggling. Panarin started his professional career as an undrafted player in his native Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League. He signed an entry-level deal with the Blackhawks, and in 2015, he made his NHL debut.

In the 2019–20 season opener against the Winnipeg Jets on October 3, Panarin notched an assist on Jacob Trouba’s first goal with the organization in addition to scoring his first goal as a Ranger on a power play.
