Brandon Smith, best known by his stage name B. Smyth, an American hip hop and R&B recording artist and dancer who released his single “Twerkoholic Part 2” last month has died after losing a battle with pulmonary fibrosis, according to his brother.

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on March 12, 1994, Smyth died on November 17, 2022.

His brother, Denzil, confirmed his passing in a video message posted to Smyth’s official Instagram page:

Smyth began his career by posting his own covers of popular songs on YouTube, some of which amassed over 500,000 views.

His videos led to him performing at various high-profile talent shows, where his style drew comparisons to prominent artists Chris Brown and Usher.

In 2012, he landed a record deal with Motown Records.

Later in the year, he released his debut single, “Leggo” featuring 2 Chainz, which peaked at No. 41 on the U.S. R&B Songs List, and No. 20 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles list.

Smyth released his first EP “The Florida Files EP” on October 15, 2013, featuring his second single, “Win Win” featuring Future.

His fan-favorite tune “Twerkoholic” followed in 2014, gathering in excess of 13 million streams on Spotify.

“Twerkoholic Part 2” dropped just a month ago.
