Former Big Brother Naija housemate Zion has shed light on his controversial statement that his girlfriend and teammate, Chinwe, was not his usual “spec.” The comment, which sparked confusion and concern among fans during his time on BBNaija Season 9, was addressed by Zion during a recent appearance on the Outsyd by Pulse show.

During the interview, the host brought up Zion’s remarks, asking how he thought Chinwe would feel upon hearing that she wasn’t completely his type. Zion clarified that his comment was primarily about physical attributes, explaining that he typically has a preference for light-skinned women, while Chinwe is dark-skinned.

“Yes, I said that she wasn’t completely my spec, but I was talking mainly physically. In the physical aspect, I have even told her, and I will say it anywhere—normally, based on my track record, I usually go for light-skinned girls,” Zion explained.

However, Zion emphasized that his feelings for Chinwe go far beyond physical appearance. He revealed that his connection with Chinwe was based more on emotional and mental compatibility than on looks.

“Me meeting Chinwe and being with her, I don’t think the physical had much to play in us coming together. I fell for her, and we both fell for each other based on the mental and in-depth aspects of each other,” Zion said.

He concluded by praising Chinwe’s inner beauty, saying, “For her, she is a lovely person inside and outside. So I could see and feel that inside her, she’s a lovely person. So I meant my spec on the outside.”

Zion’s clarification highlights that his relationship with Chinwe is rooted in a deeper connection, dispelling any misconceptions that his earlier comment might have caused among their fans.
