Bode George was a Nigerian politician who became Military Governor of Ondo State, and later Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority. He was also the national vice-chairman in the southwest zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Bode George Biography
Olabode Ibiyinka George was born on November 21, 1945, in Lagos. He attended the University of Lagos where he graduated with an MBA. Bode George is married to Roli Bode-George, she was the head of Nigeria’s anti-drug agency, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in 2015.
In 1988, George became a Commodore in the Nigerian navy. A few years, he was appointed Military Governor of Ondo State.
Bode George Wife & Son
Roli Bode-George is Bode’s wife. There is little information on when they got married, however, according to sources, they have a son together (Yinka Bode-George, model). Bode George had another son with his first wife, Feyi but he died in 2018 at age 42. Dipo died in a hospital in Ikoyi on Thursday, May 10, after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment. Dipo suffered from a prolonged illness.

Roli is a former Director-General for the NDLEA. She was appointed in 2015 following the retirement of her predecessor.
Bode George Military Career
George’s military career was shortlived. Between 1988 and 1990, he was a Commodore in the Nigerian navy and later, he was appointed Military Governor of Ondo State.

In July 2002, Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu said in an interview that, Bode George needed to face the law over his activity in Ondo state. Tinubu said, “Bode George and his fellow travellers who believe in military arbitrariness have to be told in clear terms that their time has passed, we are under democracy now.” Bode’s political party (PDP) chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Muritala Ashorobi, said Bode George had a clear record as governor of old Ondo State.
In 2009, Bode was sentenced to jail for 30 months, for abuse of office and disobedience to constituted during his tenure as chairman of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA). The judge found the defendants guilty on 47 out of the 68 counts. The sentence was handed out by Justice Joseph Olubunmi Oyewole.
