Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu who is best known by his stage name, Burna Boy was born on the 2nd of July 1991 to Mr and Mrs Ogulu in Ahaoda, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He is the eldest of his parents’ three children.

Burna Boy’s father, Samuel Ogulu managed a welding company whilst his mother, Bose Ogulu had worked as a translator. His grandfather, Benson Idonije was once the manager of the late Nigerian music legend, Fela Kuti.

As per his educational background, Burna Boy completed his junior high and secondary school education. However, his passion for music drove him to drop out of school after he went to the University of Sussex, London to further his education.

Burna Boy shot to fame in the year 2012, following the release of his hit single ‘Like to Party’ which was off his debut album, L.I.F.E. He has since become a major force in the African music scene making waves both locally and internationally.
