You can get a 2-year work permit in Canada. The duration of your work permit will depend on various factors, including the specific circumstances of your employment and the type of work permit you are applying for.

To get a work permit in Canada, you need to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or be LMIA-exempt. The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) lets you hire temporary foreign workers to fill labor and skill shortages.

If you are applying for a work permit under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP), the duration of your work permit will depend on the duration of your job offer.

If your job offer is for a period of two years, your work permit will be valid for two years. If your job offer is for a period of six months, your work permit will be valid for six months.

If you are a post-secondary student in Canada, you may be eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). A PGWP may be valid anywhere between eight months and up to three years. The permit won’t be longer than the length of your study program.
