Kannada screen goddess, Chethana Raj, passed away following a heart attack, caused by complications arising from a surgical procedure.
The 21-year-old allegedly underwent liposuction, with the aim of removing excess fat from her body.
The surgery took place at Dr. Shettys Cosmetic Clinic located in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar.
Investigations revealed that the complications included fluid in her lungs and ultimately a heart attack.
Late Chethana’s parents are on the verge of suing the hospital and doctors for negligence over their daughter’s death.
Chethana has starred in popular TV series such as Geetha, Doresaani, Olavina Nildana, Havayaami, and many others.
The Bengaluru police have recorded a First Information Report (FIR) against the clinic and its owner, Dr. Sahebgowda Shetty.
Medical research has shown that surgical procedures like liposuction come with a high level of risk.
The aim is to get rid of excess fat from certain areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs, but if not handled properly, can lead to complications.
