Connor Sun-Han Wong was born on May 19, 1996, in Houston, Texas, United States. Wong attended Pearland High School in Pearland, Texas, where he played baseball. He was not selected in the 2014 MLB draft and so he enrolled at the University of Houston.
At the University of Houston, Connor Wong played college baseball for the Cougars. He was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round of the 2017 MLB draft. Wong later signed with the Dodgers and made his professional debut with the rookie-level Arizona League Dodgers.
