Born on November 13, 1964, in Ohio, Sullivan bagged his first degree in economics at Harvard University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University.
Sullivan served in the U.S Marine Corps, where he still holds the rank of a colonel and a Defense Meritorious Service Medal.
Before he ventured into politics, Sullivan had a thriving legal career in commercial and corporate law, and is a member of the Alaska bar.
