Korean Youtuber Daud Kim, who has been trending on Twitter after a lady accused him of sexually assaulting her has come out to explain the incident and apologised.
Daud Kim in a 6-minute video shared on his Youtube channel has admitted to sexually assaulting the lady in question and described his action as “an accident”.
The Youtuber explained that the incident happened in June 2019, months before he became a Muslim and added that reverting to Islam was to seek repentance and ask for forgiveness from Allah.
Daud Kim added that he was drunk and the lady offered to take care of him. He continued to explain that he did not remember what happened except finding himself at the police station and being charged with sexual assault. According to him, he apologised to the lady, signed a document and went on to apologise on Instagram.
“At first I thought I didn’t do it, because I didn’t remember and I thought I’m not that bad person. But after I listened to their words, I felt something wrong, I felt guilty. Something really bad. She wanted me to apologise. So we met face by face on 5th July 2019. I apologised sincerely, and she accepted. There is a document about this. Agreement document.”, Daud said.
Daud says he deleted his apology on Instagram to avoid criticism but apologised in the video for his actions. He, however, did not say if the post on Instagram would be reinstated.
