Deborah Birx was born on 4 April 1956 in Pennsylvania, America. She was born to Donald Birx, a mathematician and electrical engineer, and Adele Sparks Birx, a nursing instructor.
Deborah Birx went to high school at Lampeter Strasburg High School. Deborah Birx together with her siblings used to experiment in a makeshift lab behind their family house. They perform experiments in astronomy, geology, biology, and on one occasion, a homemade satellite dish antenna mounted on roller skates.
