Eliud Kipchoge who is the youngest of four children was born on 5th November 1984 in Kapsisiywa of Nandi County, in Kenya.

The 36-year-old holds the current world marathon record after completing his distance with a time of 2:01:39 which is 1 minute and 18 seconds less than the former.
