Eric Clapton was born in Ripley, Surrey in England to his late parents Patricia Molly Clapton and Edward Walter Fryer on March 30, 1945.

Clapton schooled at Hollyfield School in Surbiton, a city in south-western London. After leaving high school, he enrolled in Kingston College of Art but could not finish his course due to his love for music.

At sixteen, Clapton’s love for guitar grew to the extent that he was playing at public places for some form of gratuities before later having the chance to play in pubs.

He joined the Roosters, his first band and the lifting point of his now lit career.

Clapton has been married twice. He married Pattie Boyd from 1979 to 1989 and then Melia McEnery later in 2002 with whom he is now.

He has five children; Sophie Belle Clapton, Ella May Clapton, Ruth Clapton, Julie Rose Clapton, and Conor Clapton.
