Tech giant, Facebook, has announced that it will be opening an office in Lagos, Nigeria next year.
Once the office is opened, Nigeria will be the second country to have an office of Facebook in Africa. The first office was opened in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2015.
According to Facebook, the office will house a team of expert engineers and it will hire teams working in sales, partnership policies and communications.
Mark Zuckerberg visited Lagos in 2016 on his first to the continent of Africa.
Ever since his visit to Lagos, Facebook has helped open a tech community hub space in the city.
Facebook announced earlier in the year that it will be building an undersea cable with a team from telecom companies in order to supply fast internet to 16 countries in Africa.
