Mostly, female celebrities in Nigeria gain popularity because of the nature of their bodies, rather than their intellectual prowess.
Somehow, most people tend to look out for beauty rather than brains when the issue of female celebrities pop out. To the anger of most feminists, others are also of the view that it is only via sexual favors that a lot of females make it to the echelon of the entertainment industry.
Here, we take a look at some female Nigerian celebrities who are intellectually endowed;
Ufuoma Stacey McDermott
She is widely known to be the most educated Nigerian actress. She has a degree in French as well as a Maters in Public and International Affairs which she acquired from the University of Lagos. She also has certificates and diplomas from Alliance Francaise and NIIT.
She has also attended a New York Film Academy in Los Angeles as well as a film making course from the Dov Simen’s Hollywood Film Institute.
She also has a certificate in Human Resource Management which she obtained from the London Business School.
Kate Henshaw
It’s definitely in the right order if I refer to her as the ‘scientific actress’. This because after reading remedial studies at the University of Calabar for a year, she went on to major in Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). She worked for sometime at the Bauchi State Government Hospital before she made a break in Nollywood.

She’s definitely added more to her status of being royalty. She attended the highly prestigious Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene before furthering to the University of Port Harcourt where she obtained a BA Honours Degree in Theatre Arts.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts, which she obtained from the University of Lagos.
Florence Ifeowula Otedola (DJ Cuppy)
She obtained a Degree in Business and Economics from the King’s College in London. She also has a Master’s Degree in Music Business which she obtained from New York University in 2015.

After gaining admission to study Mass Communication at the Babcock University, she later transferred to the National Open University of Nigeria where she earned the mass communication degree.
