Frederick Crist Trump Jr. was an American airplane pilot and maintenance worker. The eldest son of realtor Fred Trump Sr., he fell out of his father’s favor when he chose to become an airline pilot. Fred Sr. then decided Fred Jr.’s younger brother Donald take over the family business.

Trump finally fell ill with pneumonia in mid-1999. He was admitted to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, where he died at age 93 on June 25. Fred died from myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, which occurs when blood flow decreases or stops in the heart’s coronary artery, causing damage to the heart muscle.
Freddy Trump lost his battle with alcohol addiction and died in 1981 from alcohol-related complications aged 43. In spite of his family’s disapproval, Fred pursued his dreams of flying, although a battle with alcoholism forced him to step down from his job as a pilot in the 1970s as he knew flying would be too dangerous.
