Famous Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele is one of the prominent actress, producer, model, television personality, entrepreneur and philanthropist.
The beautiful actress was born on August 24, 1977 in Ikorodu, Lagos State in Nigeria. The 42 year old actress is the second child of a family with three children; two girls and a boy. Unknown to many, Funke was birth into a very prominent family with her mother being a medical doctor and her father a retired school principal. Funke began her educational journey in Calabar, Cross River State and obtained her First School leaving Certificate in same place. She then joined the Ogun State Polytechnic now known as Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where she obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication.
After obtaining her national diploma, Funke joined the University of Lagos in Akoka, Yaba, Lagos State and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law.

After securing a degree in Law, Funke joined the Nigerian movie industry in the year 1998 and started attending movie auditions and acting minor characters, however, she rose to fame and prominence in 2002 when she featured in United Nations Population Fund Sponsored sitcom television series titled, “I Need To Know”and since then she has always been a force to reckon with in the Nigeria movie industry. In 2009, Funke Akindele became a public figure after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Jenifa” a movie that gave her the nickname Jenifa.
