Golf Cart Accident Statesville NC

No less than four people have been critically injured with three persons dead, including a 5-year-old, in golf cart crash that occurred in Iredell County.

The crash had happened after it was hit by a Honda driven by a drunk driver, Austin Ray Harmon of Statesville.

Jada, a 13-year old passenger, Michael Marlowe, 39, and his 5-year-old son, Bentley, were all killed in the accident.

The three other persons affected are ages 2, 16 and 26. They had been rushed to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem and Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.


The drunk driver, Austin, 23, had allegedly crossed over the center line and struck the golf cart.

According to reports, Mills, a 2-year-old, had undergone multiple surgeries and had her right leg amputated.

Austin who was not injured in the accident, has been arrested and charged with two counts of felony death by vehicle, and three counts of felony serious injury.

He has been held on a $250,000 bond and is set to re-appear in court on July 5.
