In an interview on State of Affairs with Lantam Papanko on GHOne TV, the government admitted that the project, aimed at improving infrastructure, has faced delays and difficulties.
Lantam Papanko noted that the project has not been fully realized due to insufficient government funding.
“We have learned lessons from the difficulties in executing the Pwalugu Dam project,” Papanko said. “We want to explore a different approach by bringing in private funding to complete the project.”

Oppong Nkrumah, another government spokesperson, explained that the initial commitment to fund the project was hampered by financial constraints.
“Government funding has been limited, and we had to negotiate with our old debtors for reductions,” Nkrumah said.
Despite these setbacks, Nkrumah assured that the government remains dedicated to completing the Pwalugu Dam project.
“The vision for the project is still important,” he emphasized. “We are addressing the challenges and have learned valuable lessons from them.”
