Fans of the hit HBO series “Euphoria” will have to wait a little longer for the highly anticipated third season, as the network announces a delay in production.

An HBO spokesperson confirmed to Variety that the delay is due to ongoing challenges in coordinating schedules and completing scripts for the upcoming season.
Despite the setback, both HBO and series creator Sam Levinson remain committed to delivering an exceptional third season.
One of the contributing factors to the delay is the untimely death of Angus Cloud, who portrayed local drug dealer Fez, in July 2023. Cloud’s passing, coupled with the Hollywood strikes, has disrupted the production timeline for the show.
Additionally, many of the show’s cast members, including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, and Hunter Schafer, have become sought-after talents in Hollywood, leading to scheduling conflicts and difficulties in aligning everyone’s availability.

Rumors had circulated that Season 3 of “Euphoria” would feature a significant time jump, potentially spanning five years from the events of the previous season.
However, with the production delay, the specifics of the storyline and timeline remain uncertain.
Previously, HBO had announced that the third season was expected to premiere in 2025, marking a significant gap of at least three years since Season 2 aired in January 2022.
During a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Jacob Elordi humorously acknowledged the challenges of the prolonged hiatus, joking that if the delay continues, they might have to “Benjamin Button” him for the show.
Despite the setback, fans can rest assured that HBO and the creative team behind “Euphoria” are dedicated to delivering another compelling and groundbreaking season, albeit with a slightly longer wait.
