Headies Awards 2020: AQ Wins Best Rap Album

Nigeria popular artiste, Gilbert A-Q Bani, professionally known in the entertainment industry as AQ, has emerged the winner of the Best Rap Album of the 14th Headies Awards 2020.

This event was initially scheduled to take place in December 2020 but it was postponed to February 21, 2021, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19. The nominees list was even released on December 14, 2021.

The awards show was hosted by Nancy Isime and Bovi at the La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Ibeju-Lekki in Nigeria. AQ won the awards ahead of Illbliss, Osycho Yp, Paybac Iboro, and Erigga with God’s Engineering. 

The Headies 2020 was the 14th edition of The Headies Awards. The Headies Awards is Nigerian music awards show held to recognise outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. Fireboy DML had more nominations with nine. Davido and Wurld followed with seven nominations each, while Burna Boy the reigning Artiste of the Year secured six nominations.
