Bruce acquired the Kings for $15 million.
McNall used the Kings to borrow millions of dollars, persuading both the Walt Disney Company and Wayne Huizenga, the founder of Blockbuster, to purchase NHL teams as well.
Tragedy struck when McNall’s businesses nosedived in the 1990s, and in 1994, he went bankrupt and was forced into liquidation for defaulting on $160 million in loans.

Who Is Bruce McNall?
McNall is a former racehorse owner and sports executive.
He was born on April 17, 1950 in Arcadia, California.
McNall studied Roman history at UCLA, and began operating a coin shop in his mid-20s. Together with Texas financier Nelson Bunker Hunt, he made voyages around l the world in search of coins.
In 1974, he paid $420,000 for the Athena decadrachm, the rarest coin in the world from the fifth century B.C.
