Kelli Giddish is an American Television personality, stage and film actress. She is highly recognized for her role as NYPD Detective Amanda Rollins in the NBC crime-drama television series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Kelli Giddish has once taken up some other roles which include Di Henry in All My Children (2005–2007), Dr. Kate McGinn in Past Life (2010), and Annie Nolan in Chase (2010–2011). Kelli Marie Giddish was born on April 13, 1980 in Cumming, Georgia.

Kelli Giddish’s parents are Charles and Nita Giddish and has a brother called Eli. She earned her high school education at Forsyth Central High School  in Georgia and studied theater performance in University of Evansville in Indiana.

Kelli Giddish tied the knot with Lawrence Faulborn on June 20, 2015, in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The duo has two children, Ludo and Charlie who were born in October 2015 and October 2015 respectively. She had her pregnancy journey written into Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Kelli Giddish couldn’t maintain her marriage with Lawrence Faulborn and got divorced in 2018. On November 7, 2021, Giddish married to her new husband, Beau Richards.

Is Kelli Giddish Leaving Law & Order: SVU?

Kelli as been playing the NYPD Detective Amanda Rollins role in the series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, for the past 12 years. She has finally decided to retire from this role. A revealation that was made known to the public in an instagram post on the internet.

She stated in her post:

“I wanted to address the chatter I’ve seen online and let everyone know that this will, indeed, be my last season on ‘Law & Order: SVU.’ Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life. I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the ‘Law & Order’ family for the last 12 years. There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”

It is alleged that, Kelli Giddish didnt take that decision by herself or the Director, David Graziano. However, it was an order from above for her to resign so the program can be kept as a contemporary and more current.

To reply the news about Kelli’s departure, he stated:

“You might take a moment to entertain the idea that things are more complex than they appear in a world of emojis and tweets. All I’ll say is Kelli has handled this with the most incredibly classy comportment,”

“She is, without a doubt, one of the finest industry professionals I’ve come across in my 24 years of writing television. I’m saddened by her looming exit. It’ll be my lucky day if I ever get to write for her again.”

All attempts made by the Executive Producer of Dick Wolf, Mariska Hargitay, to prevent Kelli Giddish’s departure failed as the decision was already taken. According to sources, Kelli Giddish will appear on the Season 24 premiere, a three-hour crossover event with “Organized Crime” and the “Law & Order” flagship series, set to air on September 22.

Kelli Giddish’s final eixit will be on December 8, 2022. She sent out an appreciation to the crew in a post which reads:

“I’m so excited to take all the things I have learned in my time on ‘SVU’ and put them toward everything that’s next to come.”
