On November 8, 2022, Georgia will hold a United States Senate election to elect a member to represent the state in the United States Senate.
Senator Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, was elected with 51.0 % of the vote in a special election runoff in 2021 and is entitled to run for re-election.
He beat Republican Kelly Loeffler, who was appointed to the United States Senate by Governor Brian Kemp after Johnny Isakson resigned at the end of 2019. Warnock was elected to complete Isakson’s unexpired six-year term, which will end on January 3, 2023.
Georgia’s primary elections are set to take place on May 24. Runoff elections are held when no candidate obtains more than 50% of the vote.
