On 6 April 2023, Izzy Brown announced his retirement due to injury problems. Izzy Brown suffered a career-ending Achilles tendon injury training with Preston in 2021.

Izzy Brown has represented England at the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-20 levels. In March 2017, Izzy Brown was called up to the England U21 squad for the first time when he was at Huddersfield Town.

Izzy Brown was named into the preliminary squad in the training camp ahead of the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in June 2017.

On 2 March 2013, Izzy Brown made the West Bromwich Albion bench for the first time in an away league match against Chelsea, an unused substitute as West Brom lost 1–0.

On 28 October 2014,  Izzy Brown made the Chelsea bench for the first time in a competitive fixture. Izzy Brown made his club debut for Sheffield Wednesday on 5 September 2020 as he scored a winning penalty kick against Walsall in a 4–2 shoot-out win in the first round of the EFL Cup.
