Jerry Crutchfield, an American country and pop record producer, composer, and guitarist, was born on August 10, 1934.

Crutchfield worked in publishing and at a record company. With singing group The Country Gentlemen, later known as The Escorts, he recorded for RCA Victor Records.

Crutchfield was nominated for and won many Country Music Association (CMA) “Song of the Year” awards for his work as a producer, as well as being a co-producer of a CMA Album of the Year.

Jerry Crutchfield, a Nashville songwriter, producer, publishing executive, and music industry veteran, died on January 11, 2022, at the age of 87. The cause of his death has yet to be determined.

Crutchfield is survived by his wife, Patsy, son Martin, daughter Christy Fields, and three grandsons, Adison, Chase, and Luke Fields, whom he married 62 years ago.

At a later date, a musical tribute to his life will be held. Those who want to pay tribute to Crutchfield can donate to the American Federation of Musicians’ Emergency Relief Fund or Crisis Assistance Fund in his name.
