Josina began attended Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland and proceeded to the University of North Carolina with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. During her days in high school, she was an announcer for Blazers. She was also an athlete and was interested in field events where she completed 200 and 400-meter races.

Josina started her profession as a journalist in 2000 where she worked as a reporter and an anchor for CBS-affiliated Coos Bay. She also worked as a sports weekend co-anchor for FOX 31. iN 2011, ESPN appointed Josina as a Chicago-based bureau reporter.
