Over a month after the alleged murder of cyclist Moriah Wilson, Kaitlin Armstrong was apprehended at a hostel in Costa Rica on Wednesday.

She was located at the hostel on Santa Teresa Beach, which faces the Pacific Ocean, according to U.S. Marshals, who said they collaborated with Homeland Security and Costa Rican officials to do so. She’ll be sent back to the United States and deported.

According to U.S. Marshals, investigators discovered that Armstrong, 34, used a fake passport on May 18 to board a United Airlines aircraft from Newark, New Jersey, to San Jose, Costa Rica.

According to Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla, Armstrong was discovered with a changed appearance.

Armstrong had dark brown dyed shoulder-length hair, a bandage on her nose, and bruises under her eyes from an alleged surfboarding mishap.

In order to find her in the hostel, Filla commended “boots on the ground” law enforcement strategies and partnerships with foreign operations.

She was captured thanks to door-to-door visits, surveillance, and in-person questioning undertaken by authorities.
