Katherine Victoria Litwack, best known as Kat Dennings was born on June 13, 1986, in Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the USA to parents, Ellen Judith Schatz (a speech therapist and poet) and Gerald J. Litwack (molecular pharmacologist and college professor).

Kat Dennings is of Jewish ancestry. With regards to her educational background, she was homeschooled and graduated from high school at an early of 14. The only enrollment Kat had at a traditional school was at Friends’ Central School which only lasted for a half-day.
