The billionaire founder of gaming giant Nexon Co Ltd, Kim Jung-Ju, died at the age of 54, parent firm NXC Corp said on Tuesday.

Kim launched Nexon in 1994, and it has since grown to become one of the largest game creators and publishers, with hit online games such as MapleStory and KartRider.
Kim “had been undergoing therapy for depression, and it looked to have worsened recently,” according to the report, which does not detail on the cause of death.

Jung-ju Kim was a South Korean businessman, philanthropist, and the creator of Nexon, Korea’s largest gaming firm. He was the chairman and CEO of Nexon’s parent company, NXC Corporation, and a partner at Collaborative Fund, a New York-based venture capital firm.
Kim was listed in the top five of Korea’s 50 Richest 2018 by Forbes, with an estimated net worth of US$6.8 billion. Kim was married to Jung-Hyun Yoo, and together they had two children
