If readers will recall, the Federal Government of Nigeria disclosed that will suspend the use of the app in the country indefinitely after the company deleted a controversial tweet President Muhammadu Buhari made about a secessionist movement.

Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed said government officials decided to suspend Twitter because the platform was being used for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence.

Reacting to this, Nengi took to her Twitter page and stated that it is rather unfortunate that the government chose to make this decision. She questioned how a government can just decide to frustrate its citizens.

Nengi’s post reads,

“It is really alarming that FG implemented a ban on Twitter. Like how do you intentionally frustrate your citizens?”.
