American singer-songwriter Maren Morris has publicly come out as bisexual, just four months after finalizing her divorce from her husband, Ryan Hurd.

The 34-year-old Grammy winner shared her truth with the world, celebrating LGBTQAI Pride month shortly after performing a concert in Phoenix, AZ. In an Instagram post, Morris proudly declared, “Happy to be the B in LGBTQ+, happy pride!”

Maren Morris’ revelation was met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow artists alike. Notable figures such as Allison Ponthier, Kate Yeager, Lindsay Ell, Marielle Kraft, and Heather left encouraging comments, expressing their solidarity and admiration for Morris’ bravery.

Morris has long been a vocal ally for the LGBTQAI community, taking significant steps to advocate for equality and inclusion. Since 2022, she has partnered with GLAAD and made a notable appearance as a guest judge on the five-time Emmy-winning reality competition “RuPaul’s Drag Race” in 2023.

In addition to her ongoing advocacy, Maren Morris made headlines last year for her performance at the Love Rising benefit in Nashville. The event was a protest against Tennessee legislation targeting cross-dressing performers, trans youth, and same-sex marriage, highlighting Morris’ commitment to fighting for LGBTQAI rights.

Morris’ announcement comes on the heels of her finalized divorce from country singer Ryan Hurd. The couple, who met in 2013 while co-writing Tim McGraw’s track “Last Turn Home,” separated on October 2nd after five years of marriage. As part of their divorce agreement, Morris pays $2,100 in child support each month.
