Beyond her media presence, Crowley has also played a crucial role in shaping opinions as the former online opinion editor for The Washington Times.
Additionally, her affiliation with the Council on Foreign Relations highlights her engagement with global affairs and foreign policy.
Educationally, Crowley holds a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Colgate University and a Ph.D. in international relations from Columbia University.
However, Crowley’s career trajectory took a turn in December 2016 when she was tapped to be the deputy national security advisor for the National Security Council in the Donald Trump administration.
Unfortunately, this appointment was short-lived, as she withdrew a month later amid allegations of plagiarism related to her 2012 book and 2000 Ph.D. dissertation.
Despite this setback, Crowley’s resilience prevailed. In July 2019, she found herself back in the political spotlight when President Trump announced her appointment as spokesperson for the Treasury Department.
Shortly thereafter, on July 24, 2019, Crowley was officially sworn into office.
