Disturbing reports received by us indicates that Professor Emmanuel Yaw Benneh, a University of Ghana senior law lecturer has been gruesomely murdered in his home at Accra.
Details surrounding his death remains sketchy but a colleague at his faculty by name, Poku Adusei has given a vivid details about the death of the professor.
According to Poku Adusei post on Facebook, Prof. Emmanuel was murdered in the same way J.B Danquah, Former MP for Abuakwa North got killed.
“It appears to be an act perpetuated about three days ago, but it was just discovered this morning,” he said.
Unconfirmed reports indicates that Prof. Emmanuel was laying in his own pool of blood with his hands and legs tied.
Ace Journalist, Mannesah Azuri visit the place on Saturday and saw the sister of the deceased wailing uncontrollably.
There was a houseboy who was close to the lecturer. He revealed that the last time he spoke to the professor was on Thursday around 8pm.
According to the houseboy, Mr Benneh mostly gives him a call when he needed someone to run errands for him.
“I called him the next day, but he did not respond. The gardener came to worked this morning and when he did not find any sign of him, he knocked at his door but there was no response,” Isaac Botchway told Manasseh.
“The gardener then went to inform his [Prof Benneh’s] sister who does not live far away from the house. They went for a carpenter to force the door open,” he continued.
“When the door was forced open, he was found dead,” he said.
The professors hands and legs were tied.
Law students have shared their sympathy with the family indicating the mentorship they received from the professor.
It is with a heavy heart, that we inform you about the demise of one of our lecturers, Prof. Emmanuel Y. Benneh.
A call to the dean confirmed the news; but we are yet to have details on the occurrence of his unfortunate demise.
