Nigerian billionaire and Senator, Ned Nwoko, has come to the defense of his wife, Regina Daniels, amidst the controversy that erupted following her recent comments on the ongoing nationwide protests.

Regina Daniels, a popular actress and influencer, found herself at the center of backlash last week after sharing a video in which she condemned violence and called for peace on the first day of the protests.
Critics swiftly accused her of being out of touch with the harsh realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, citing her privileged lifestyle as the reason for her perceived disconnect.
In response to the criticism, Regina Daniels took to Instagram to clarify her stance, explaining that her comments were intended to advocate for better wages and working conditions for her employees, rather than to curry favor with the public. She emphasized her deep concern for the economic challenges that many Nigerians are grappling with.

Ned Nwoko, in a show of solidarity, publicly supported his wife’s stance, praising her for her wisdom and the courage she displayed in speaking out. “I commend Gina’s wisdom and strength of character in deciding on her own to sympathize and support Nigerians showing bottled-up frustrations with the apparent hopelessness in the country,” he stated.
Addressing the broader issues at hand, Nwoko acknowledged the deep-seated problems of economic instability and insecurity in Nigeria, which he attributed to decades of poor governance. He urged for peaceful protests, emphasizing that the loss of more lives would be unjustifiable.
Nwoko also revealed his intentions to contribute more actively to the national discourse. “In the next few days, I will speak and write on a few realistic immediate solutions, especially on economic and insecurity problems facing our nation. As a senator, my bills and motions have been about the people. This is really my passion,” he added.
