Every Institution has got its hall of fame and so is football. The pro football hall of fame which celebrates professional footballers, coaches, franchise owners has got 310 members of which 15 of them have significant positions in the NFL.

- Jerry Jones, Billionaire, businessman, and owner of the Dallas Cowboys is one of the few NFL owners in the pro football hall of fame. He has been the General manager since he acquired it in 1989.
- Charles Bidwill, owner of the Chicago Cardinals from 1933 to 1947. He acquired ownership through inheritance.
- Al Davis, Known as Allen Davis outside football, was an American football coach and executive. He owned Oakland Raiders for 39 years until his demise.
- Eddie DeBartolo owned the San Fransisco 49ers for 23 years. He died at age 74.
- George Halas is an American football player and coach who established and managed the Chicago bears. He died on October 31, 1983.
- Wellington Timothy Mara was the co-owner of the New York Giants of the National Football League from 1959 until his death on October 25, 2005.
- George Preston Marshall was the owner of the Washington Redskins. He managed the team until his demise in 1969
Other NFL members in the hall of fame are co-owners and siblings who inherited teams from their families.
