Nigerian rapper Oladips has accused Afrobeats superstar Wizkid of intellectual theft.

The accusation centers around Wizkid’s verse on Asake’s recent track “MMS,” which Oladips claims closely mirrors his own lyrics from the 2022 hit “Ajala Traveller.”
In a series of social media posts, Oladips shared a screenshot comparison that highlighted the striking similarity between a line from his song and one from Wizkid’s verse.
Oladips’ original lyric, “I had to lose myself to find my purpose,” appears to be echoed in Wizkid’s line, “Lost myself, and I found my purpose.”

The rapper, clearly troubled by the resemblance, posed a direct question to his followers and Wizkid, asking if this was a case of “recycling or coincidence.”
Wizkid, who is known for his groundbreaking contributions to Afrobeats, has yet to publicly respond to Oladips’ claims.
Meanwhile, the incident has brought renewed attention to both Oladips’ “Ajala Traveller” and Asake’s “MMS,” as fans revisit the songs to form their own opinions on the matter.
