Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has accused Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, of spreading false information regarding the purchase of a presidential jet for President Bola Tinubu.

Omokri clarified that the Nigerian government has no intentions to acquire a new jet for Tinubu, contradicting Obi’s claims. He stressed that the proposal did not originate from the presidency.

Previously, Pulse had reported that the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence suggested acquiring new aircraft for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.

Obi reacted strongly, criticizing the idea as insensitive amid widespread poverty in Nigeria. He expressed disbelief that such a proposal could be considered while citizens suffer.

Omokri retaliated against Obi’s remarks, lambasting him in a detailed response titled “Presidential Jet: Another Peter Obi Gbajue.”

He accused Obi of lying and misleading the public, asserting that there were no official plans or budget allocations from the Executive for a new presidential jet.

He also pointed out that similar misinformation had been spread by Obi in the past regarding government expenditures.

In his critique, Omokri highlighted Obi’s alleged reliance on public gullibility and urged people to verify information before accepting Obi’s claims.

He accused Obi of using falsehoods to sway opinion, contrasting it with his own tenure under the PDP administration, suggesting Obi’s criticisms lacked factual basis.
