According to statistics provided by The Kenya Economic Report for 2021 there about 10 poorest counties in Kenya for the year 2021 out of a total of 97 counties in the country.

Major differences exist between counties because of unequal wealth distribution from county to county and corruption by government appointees.

Listed below are the poorest counties in Kenya for the year 2021 whose contribution to the Gross County Product per capita are the lowest.

1. Mandera County

3. Elgeyo Marakwet County

Perching third on the poorest counties in Kenya list for 2021 is Elgeyo Marakwet county. It can only boast of GDP per capita of Ksh 29,600.

4. Samburu County

The GDP per capita for Samburu County stood at Ksh 29,880.

5. West Pokot County

Making it as the fifth poorest county in the whole of  Kenya currently is West Pokot County. It has to its name a GDP per capita of Ksh 30,800.
