The defunct music group Psquare, collapsed following some uncertainties and misunderstandings with regards to their music career.
Prior to their separation and brickbats on social media, they were working with Square records where they mostly produce and release their albums. The duo signed a deal with Akon’s Konvict Muzik label in December 2011 and also signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music group in 2012.
The misunderstandings ensued in their working career way back in 2015. However, their troubles surfaced online in 2017 after a video of the duo in an agreement circulated on the internet.
Fast forward to 2016, news on their group being disbanded topped all news headlines in numerous media outlets. The reason was attributed to a disagreement with regards to their manager’s role in their career. In September 2017, Peter Okoye shared his worry on the internet, stating that he was in fear because the safety of his family was shaking.
The information on their separation got leaked after Peter allegedly submitted a termination letter to their Lawyer. After their separation, the duo seized doing music together. Paul Okoye used his stage name Rudeboy to release hits like ‘Audio Money’ and ‘Reason With Me’ and Peter Okoye who also used his stage name Mr. P to release hits like ‘One More Night‘ and ‘Paloma’.
In November 2021, Paul called out Peter Okoye’s wife Lola Omotayo after she wished them a happy birthday on her page. He lambasted her and held her responsible for all the fracas that ensued between him and his twin brother.
Finally, the duo has been able to set aside their differences to reunite as twin brothers and put their family first. They apologized to their fans and promised to love themselves henceforth and do better.
