Exit class pupils mainly from JS3 and SS3 resumed academic activities on Monday as directed by the Katsina State Government, preparatory to their examinations coming up later this month
The government had directed the resumption of schools in the state under strict COVID-19 protocols
Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education Salisu Kerau while confirming the resumption of schools in an interview with The Nation, said an inspection team constituted by the government would go round from today to monitor compliance.
The Nation Correspondent, who went round some of the Schools in Katsina City Center, observed that the turnout was quite impressive.
Coordinating Director of little Angel Group of Schools Abdul Kangiwa said there was 70 per cent turnout of returning pupils. “We have 49 students in SS3 but 37 resumed today, also in JSS3, 33 out of 35 have resumed’’
Wearing of face masks was strictly enforced while hand washing machines and sanitisers were conspicuously displayed. Also, there was a structural adjustment of the classes to ensure social distancing
