In November 2019, controversial Ghanaian preacher Rev. Kwaku Agyei Antwi, known popularly as Rev. Obofuor was arrested.
According to Graphic Online, Rev Obofuor, founder of Anointed Chapel Palace International, was invited by the Accra Regional Police Command on October 31, 2019 after a video of his “wee deliverance” went viral on social media.
According to the report, Rev. Obofuor defended himself by claiming that he was in the spiritual realm when he instructed a member of his church to smoke a substance suspected to be weed in the presence of the congregation.
In furtherance, Rev. Obofuor claimed that he was directed by the Holy Spirit of God and as a a result, he did not see the young man smoke the banned substance in the church.
During the service, Rev. Obofour asked if anyone in the Church auditorium had an addiction to marijuana [wee].
A man stepped forward and produced a small box, which had one roll of wee as proof of his addiction.
Rev Obofuor then asked the man to light the substance and smoke for him to verify if it was truly ‘wee’ so he could deliver him from the smoking habit.
The man heeded to the “direction of the spirit” and went on to smoke the banned substance in the full glare of the congregation.
