A road facilitated by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has reportedly been washed away by rain just a few months after its inauguration.

The Eziukwu bridge and road, initiated and inaugurated by the former Abia Governor, Senator Uzor Kalu, on January 29, 2024, are now in disrepair due to recent heavy rains experienced nationwide.

The project was initially celebrated as a significant development for the region, promising improved transportation and accessibility for the local communities. However, the recent torrential downpours have severely damaged the infrastructure, raising concerns about the quality and durability of the construction work.

Local residents have expressed their disappointment and frustration, as the road was seen as a critical improvement for the area. Many are now questioning the standards and oversight involved in the construction process.

Authorities are being urged to address the issue promptly, ensuring that future projects meet higher standards to withstand such weather conditions.
